STARTING AND GROWING WITH "FUTURESAX"

futureSAX is an initiative of Saxony's State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport. futureSAX pursues the objective of providing growth impulses for existing companies and supporting start-ups in establishing themselves on the market. futureSAX is active for both, high-growth companies with a strong market position and high-potential startups.

The futureSAX activities include, for example, the “Innovation Prize” contest (for innovative SMEs), the "Startup Competition" (for business founders), the Saxon Transfer Prize (for scientists) as well as specific innovation forums which are held twice a year. In addition, joint presentations at leading technology trade shows (“Start-up Corner”), founder forums, investor roadshows, and pitch workshops are organized particularly for business founders.

HIGHTECH STARTBAHN NETZWERK E. V.

The HighTech Startbahn Netzwerk e. V. was founded in 2010 and supports young enterprises from high tech branches in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, and Thuringia in establishing themselves on the market. The focus is on initiating and establishing contacts to investors, mentors, and industrial partners. In addition, the network offers start-ups the opportunity of exchanging ideas and concepts with one another through the most diverse platforms – the Member Roadshow, the Innovation Workshop Business, the MentorsClub, or the HIGHTECH VENTURE DAYS.

SÄCHSISCHES EXISTENZGRÜNDERNETZWERK (SEN) [SAXONY’S NETWORK FOR BUSINESS START-UPS]

The Sächsisches Existenzgründernetzwerk (SEN) [Saxony’s Network for Business Start-Ups] is a partnership of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Chambers of Crafts in Saxony. The network supports young entrepreneurs and those who want to start a business in Saxony so that they can realize their visions. The objective is to establish close ties among important and strong partners by offering advice and providing assistance to business founders in Saxony, to use the dynamic synergies, and to safeguard the requisite quality standards.

"SAXEED" IN SOUTHWESTERN SAXONY

SAXEED is the business start up network of the four southwestern Saxon universities – Chemnitz University of Technology, the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, and the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences of Zwickau. SAXEED promotes and supports business start-ups of professors, university employees, students, and graduates. Those who are interested in founding a company are qualified in various subject areas and those who have decided to establish their own business are assisted in a personal, individual manner.

"DRESDEN I EXISTS"

For students, graduates, and scientists of Dresden’s universities and research institutions, dresden|exists is the first contact on their way towards entrepreneurial success. With their profound experience, consultants provide assistance and support for those who seek to establish their own start-up as well as in all issues pertaining to technology transfer or company succession in already established enterprises. In individual consultations, start-up relevant questions are discussed and help is provided when it comes to applications for subsidies. Entrepreneurial competences and the necessary expertise are imparted in lectures and seminars.

The branch network Silicon Saxony e. V.’s Work Group “Startup” serves as an exchange platform for business start-ups in the microelectronics / ICT sector and aims to foster synergies between start-ups and already established companies in the region. SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator

The SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator in Leipzig supports interdisciplinary teams in the implementation and growth of their start-up projects. During the 6-month program the start-ups can use a modern co-working office at the creative area of the Leipzig cotton spinning mill and get access to various technologies from partners. The program includes extensive support from experienced coaches and mentors, for example through regular workshops on business, legal and technical topics. SpinLab has a very good network of investors and established companies.

The GründerGarten e. V. [Founder Garden] association seeks to evoke and raise entrepreneurial spirit in students and strengthen Dresden’s start-up culture. With such events as the GründerTour, the GründerAbend evening, and diverse workshops, GründerGarten promotes and advances the pioneering spirit among students and those interested in starting a business. This permits easy access and contact to Dresden’s start-up community while also encouraging and fostering a functioning network among all important stakeholders from business, science, and government.

GRÜNDERBERATERNETZWERK CHEMNITZ [START-UP CONSULTING NETWORK CHEMNITZ]

The Gründerberaternetz Chemnitz [Start-up Consulting Network Chemnitz] unites the City of Chemnitz’s municipal and institutional start-up consultants – the Chemnitz Employment Agency, the CWE – Economic Development Corporation of the City of Chemnitz, the Chemnitz Chamber of Crafts (HWK), the Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the SAXEED network, the SC-Kapitalbeteiligungsgesellschaft mbH capital investment corporation, the Sparkasse Chemnitz savings bank, and the Technology Center Chemnitz (TCC) under its roof.

Since 2002, the partners have been coordinating their consulting services with one another so that potential business founders find the right contact partners in Chemnitz as soon as possible. In addition to such regular and active coordination, the network also has multifaceted regional and national contacts.

GRÜNDERNETZWERK OBERLAUSITZ [START-UP NETWORK UPPER LUSATIA]

In early 2016, the Gründernetzwerk Oberlausitz [Start-up Network Upper Lusatia] was founded in Bautzen. The partners include Saxony’s retail association Handelsverband Sachsen, the Wirtschaftsjunioren Görlitz and Bautzen young entrepreneurs’ association, the Commerzbank AG banking corporation, the Lusatian business initiative Wirtschaftsinitiative Lausitz as well as the Dresden-based Bergmeyster GmbH corporation.
The network offers, for example, courses for business founders at regular intervals.
