Experts for houses with the highest possible solar coverage

Since 2000, FASA AG Chemnitz has been working intensively on the use of the sun as an energy source for all types of buildings. Together with other partners in Saxony, the company has developed a type of house that is designed to maximize the use of solar heat and solar power.

FASA GmbH started out as a small family business in May 1990 with the FAssadenSAnierung (FASA) business field. In the years that followed, the business field gradually expanded, including with significantly extended construction services and the first new buildings. Today, the company's business areas include building construction, civil engineering and structural engineering. FASA has in-depth expertise in these areas and can offer a complete range of services from planning and construction preparation to implementation. In building construction, FASA is traditionally active in both new construction and refurbishment. This also extends to the revitalization of listed buildings.

Since 2000, the company has been working intensively on the use of solar energy as an energy source for all types of buildings. For FASA, the key to a world worth living in and its future for generations to come lies in the comprehensive, widespread shift away from fossil fuels towards clean, renewable energy sources. FASA is also setting a good example here: the company headquarters in Chemnitz is itself an active solar house that supplies its users with solar energy. It also serves as a national and international demonstrator for R&D projects.

Together with other partners in Saxony, FASA has developed a type of house that is designed to supply itself with as much solar heat and solar power as possible, i.e. with the highest possible solar coverage (almost 100%). The primary focus was and is on solar heat, as the potential savings here are around ten times greater than with electricity. The development was successfully put into practice for the first time in 2005 with the construction of the first ENERGETIKhaus100®, the Aktivsonnenhaus. Since then, many other projects have been realized throughout Germany.

But FASA is not only active in the solar sector; the Chemnitz-based experts have also developed completely new products in the field of civil engineering, such as the FASA-LSW-SG noise barrier insulated with seagrass.
