The origins of Eckert & Ziegler Isotope Technologies Dresden (ITD) go back to 1964, to a technical department in the isotope production department of the Rossendorf Nuclear Research Center, which carried out both internal projects and the sale of hot cells to customers in the Eastern Bloc. In 1991, Wälischmiller Dresden was formed as a spin-off from this facility. In 2008, the company name was changed to Isotope Technologies Dresden. Since then, ITD has been active in the field of radiopharmaceuticals and equips manufacturers worldwide with radiation protection and isotope production systems. The company has been part of Eckert & Ziegler SE since 2017.

The main focus is on operator safety and optimizing the handling of radioactive material. More than three decades of industry experience, 500 completed projects and a team of competent experts enable ITD to offer almost any desired solution and also to optimize existing approaches with an eye for detail. ITD's core competencies include the development of R&D boxes, marking and filling, material testing and the production of industrial sources, radiopharmaceuticals and radionuclides.
