One of the company's innovative highlights: CG Rail's engineers have developed the world's first lightweight metro train called CETROVO. It consists almost entirely of CFRP components. The achievements from Saxony are integrated into the overall "Next Generation Metro Train" project of the world's largest rail vehicle manufacturer CRRC. With the front cabin, carriage body, underfloor cladding and bogie frame, CG Rail has realized the main modules using fiber composite materials for the new metro generation. The proportion of CFRP is over 70 percent. The innovative lightweight construction concept enables mass reductions of more than 30 percent compared to a comparable metal construction and contributes to resource-efficient and efficient local public transport.
