RENT FOR OFFICES IN LARGE GERMAN CITIES

With a peak rental price of 42 euros per square meter, Frankfurt on the Main continued to rank first in 2019 when it comes to rental prices for office space. Munich is in second place, as in the previous years, with 37.50 euros per square meter. On third place is Germany's capital with 35 euros per square meter. When compared to the previous year, all the top office locations in Germany recorded increases in the peak rental prices for office space.

With 14 euros per square meter, the rental prices for office space in Leipzig and Dresden are still significantly lower compared to other German metropolises.

The information is maintained decentrally by the responsible regional economic development agencies, district offices and the Public Enterprise Saxon Property and Construction Management (SIB). RENT FOR APARTMENTS IN LARGE GERMAN CITIES

On a nationwide average in Germany, the rental prices for private apartments in 2018 increased by 2.2 percent when compared to the previous year. In large German cities, the average rent in the period under review amounted to a net base rent of 6.92 euros per square meter.

Rental prices in Saxony’s large cities of Dresden and Leipzig are below the German average. In Dresden, for instance, the net base rent per square meter is 6.23 euros. Rental prices in both cities are also increasing at a below average rate.
