SUBSIDIES FOR THE EMPLOYMENT AND QUALIFICATION OF UNEMPLOYED PERSONS (EMPLOYMENT AGENCY)

The labor administrations provide assistance and support in recruiting and selecting suitable personnel. If so desired, for example, all incoming applications can be collected and a preselection can be made according to the needs and requirements of the respective employer.

In addition, it is possible to benefit from diverse funding programs for unemployed persons; the most popular choices are Eingliederungszuschüsse [Integration Subsidies] and Maßnahmen bei einem Arbeitgeber [Measures with an Employer] (MAG). The amount and duration of the subsidies depend on the individual case and are determined, for example, by the duration of unemployment and the individual prerequisites of the employee as well as the requirements of the respective workplace.

SUBSIDIES FOR THE QUALIFICATION OF EMPLOYED PERSONS (EMPLOYMENT AGENCY)

The Employment Agencies may subsidize certified continued training and education measures which are conducted within the scope of an existing employment relationship while the payment of the employee’s remunerations continues. Financial support is also possible for newly employed persons with few qualifications. It is essential to impart knowledge that can be used on the labor market. Not included is financial support for any qualifications which the employer is legally obligated to provide.

WEITERBILDUNGSSCHECK [FREE VOUCHER FOR CONTINUED EDUCATION AND TRAINING] (ESF)

If new employees are to be optimally qualified or long-term employees of a company are to be prepared for new tasks and duties, then the “Weiterbildungsscheck,” a free voucher for continued education and training, might be a useful instrument.

Eligible to the requisite subsidies are continued education and training measures in companies, particularly with the following objectives:

  • Qualifications in conjunction with the creation of new jobs and the development of new markets
  • Retaining the employability as well as upgrading the qualification of employees
  • Adjusting employers to new challenges, for example, with regard to corporate management tasks, safeguarding a sustainable pool of skilled employees, or implementing new technologies
  • Preparing company successions
  • In depth education and training programs for apprentices undergoing in company vocational training
  • Qualifications designed to improve environmental and resource protection in the work process

The subsidies are paid project-specific as a grant for eligible expenditures, irrespective of, for example, any investment grants. The requisite qualification measures can also be conducted abroad.

Collaborative Education and Training (ESF)

Due to their size or specialization, it is often difficult for small and medium sized enterprises to independently safeguard and assure the education and training of skilled employees. Yet there’s one thing these enterprises can provide: Collaborative education and training. With the support program “Verbundausbildung” [Collaborative Education and Training], it is possible for Saxony’s companies with up to 500 employees to impart the requisite knowledge and skills through cooperating enterprises or educational facilities and, thus, cover the entire spectrum of professional education and vocational training.
