Information and objective
The Smart City Expo World Congress - an international congress with an accompanying trade fair - is an excellent platform for presenting products and services relating to sustainable and future-oriented urban development, exchanging information on trends and innovations and learning about current projects.
The joint stand with nine exhibitors under the umbrella brand SAXONY! can be found in the Fira de Barcelona, Hall 2, Booth B111.
Agenda
Saxony's Minister for Economic Affairs, Dirk Panter, will visit the exhibitors from Saxony on November 6 and says: "The Smart City Expo is the world's largest and most influential event for urban innovations aimed at sustainably improving the quality of life in cities. The Free State recognized the potential of the Smart City / sustainable urban development theme early on and is now presenting itself for the sixth time with the Saxony Live joint stand in Barcelona. This regular presence is important. Saxony`s companies are developing innovative products and services, and local authorities are implementing EU and federal model projects and cooperating with partners around the world. Our stand gives Saxony's stakeholders even greater visibility, helps us to maintain and acquire customers, and also enables us to approach investors."
Garbage cans that notify city cleaning services when they need to be emptied, electric cars that show drivers the way to the nearest available parking space, streetlights that dim when no one is nearby—this is what the ideal smart city of the future could look like. Digitalization plays an important role here because it promises new insights into the use of urban space and more efficient control and planning options for cities, while also providing the necessary technological solutions. Saxony impresses with best practice examples from cities such as Leipzig and Dresden, as well as from innovative companies. Dresden ranks fifth among German cities in the Smart City Index of the digital association Bitkom and is a leader in mobile communications technologies and sensor systems. In addition, numerous Saxon companies offer pioneering solutions for the digitalization of infrastructure, modern mobility, and data management," says WFS Managing Director Thomas Horn.
Steffen Rietzschel, Head of the Office for Economic Development of the City of Dresden: "The participation of the Smart City Dresden team in Barcelona is clear proof of the innovative strength of the location – with an impact that extends far beyond the city limits. Our projects combine economic development with sustainable urban design and are breaking new ground in some areas. That's why it's important to learn from each other as a network with other international projects and to work together on sustainable solutions for the cities of tomorrow."
"Our central goal is to make the city of Leipzig sustainable and fit for the future. To achieve this, we rely on close cooperation between the administration, business, science, and urban society. The Digital City Department is working on numerous projects together with internal and external partners to position Leipzig as a pioneer of digitalization. We hope that the Smart City Expo World Congress will provide a constructive exchange on trends and innovations in the field of sustainable and future-oriented urban development. By participating in the Smart City Expo, we want to be open to new partners and collaborators who want to drive innovative projects forward with us, while also sharing our experience to date with interested parties," explains the City of Leipzig.
"For us in Zwickau, the All Electric Society is not a distant vision of the future, but a concrete goal that the city, district, business community, and West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau are pursuing together. The Smart City Expo offers the ideal platform for discussing comprehensive solutions for energy efficiency, sector coupling, and digital networking. One of the key challenges remains the integration of different systems and data sources into scalable, secure infrastructures. We expect the trade fair to provide new impetus for cooperation that promotes the transfer to applicable, economical solutions," says the All Electric Society Alliance.
Björn Schuster, Head of Business Development at N+P Informationssysteme GmbH, adds: “We at N+P Informationssysteme GmbH will be presenting our solutions in the field of digital building management at the trade fair. With our solution, we contribute to the sustainable and energy-efficient operation of buildings. As part of the All Electric Society Alliance, in addition to networking with other exhibitors, it is also important to pick up on European trends and find interesting cooperation partners.”
