BMW Leipzig plant wins "Industrial Excellence Award"
The plastic component production at the BMW plant in Leipzig has received the "Industrial Excellence Award" Germany. The Otto Beisheim School of Management recognized the "exemplary process" for the development and implementation of a digital transformation strategy.
The main reasons for the award are above all the involvement of all employees in the operational strategy process - coupled with the openness of all those involved towards the digital transformation with a strong focus on the use of innovative technologies. "The Industrial Excellence Award is the reward for our entire team, which has pulled together from the very beginning to successfully guide our site through the upcoming transformation with a forward-looking strategy," says Christoph Theiselmann, Head of Technology Exterior Components Leipzig.
Plastic component production is an independent division within the BMW plant in Leipzig. As an organizational unit of the Purchasing and Supplier Network department, it specializes in the production of plastic exterior parts by injection moulding at both the Leipzig and Landshut sites, e.g. bumpers, sills and spoilers.
"Thanks to our expertise in the in-house production of plastic components, we are a key factor in the BMW Group production network for vehicle production in Leipzig, Regensburg and Dingolfing, as well as in the entire supplier environment," emphasizes Stefan Schaubeck, Head of Purchasing, Quality, Plastics Exterior Production.
