Kamenz: Liofit e-bike battery recycler expanded

Liofit, the specialist for repairing and recycling e-bike batteries, is growing and has given the go-ahead for the construction of its new company headquarters in Kamenz. On August 21, the official ground-breaking ceremony for the approximately 1000m² hall at the future address "An der Nordbahn 3" took place.

This is an important milestone in the history of the family business, which was founded by Dr. Ralf Günther in 2013.

"With the new building, we are creating the basis for saving even more batteries from being scrapped and thus actively conserving resources. In addition to our day-to-day business, we want to set up a pilot plant for the combination of repair and recycling in the coming months - so that we can finally make our latest results from the development department visible in production," says Dr. Günther.

The aim is to repair the first batteries at the new site in 2026, further optimize processes and expand the business to meet the growing demand from all over Europe, which will result from the new EU battery regulation, among other things. With the modern company site, Liofit is sending a clear signal for the future: more space for research and development, but also for sustainable growth.

During the event, Saxony's Minister of Economic Affairs Dirk Panter gave a short speech and then presented the funding decision to Managing Director Dr. Günther from Liofit.

"Liofit GmbH from Kamenz is a Lusatian success story with appeal far beyond the region. From a workshop business to one of the leading providers in the repair and reconditioning of e-bike batteries - this example shows how forward-looking, marketable ideas and entrepreneurial courage can provide impetus not only for the individual company, but also for the business location as a whole. For Saxony, the company is an important source of innovation and expertise for both the bike and recycling industries. We are pleased that we have been able to accompany this positive development for several years and also actively support the expansion plans and wish the company continued success," said Thomas Horn, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH (WFS), commenting on the current developments at Liofit.

  • Innovative readout software revolutionizes the e-bike industry

Liofit recently presented its latest innovation to a broad specialist audience for the first time at Eurobike - the leading bicycle trade fair in Frankfurt. Specifically, it is the "All-in-One" diagnostic tool - a compact device for reading and programming e-bike batteries. It can read out all common batteries from different manufacturers at the touch of a button and display the most important battery data on the PC. This innovation significantly simplifies the initial diagnosis on site. Manufacturers, dealers, workshops or recycling collection points can immediately determine the problem with the battery and whether it is suitable for repair.
