Saxony presents solutions for the future of digital administration at the Smart Country Convention
From September 30 to October 2, 2025, Saxony will present itself for the first time with a joint stand at the Smart Country Convention (SCCON) in Berlin.
Seven Saxon companies and institutions, together with the Saxony State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development (SMIL) and Saxony Trade & Invest Corp (WFS), will be presenting their ideas, concepts and solutions for the future of electronic administration and services of general interest at the e-government, smart city & smart region trade fair.
"E-government is a growing market that is driven by the digitalization of administrative processes and aims to improve interaction between the state, citizens and companies. There are many opportunities for technology companies to use innovative and secure technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain to develop more efficient and user-friendly solutions. Saxon exhibitors at the trade fair will show how the digital transformation of administration, cities and regions can be implemented in concrete terms," says WFS Managing Director Thomas Horn.
"We will be showing how Saxon works in the field of digital sovereignty: as a Saxon company and ALASCA co-founder, we will be presenting at the Smart Country Convention together with Saxony's Economic Development Corporation how cloud infrastructures can be operated reliably, in compliance with data protection regulations and in a trustworthy manner - all based on 100% open source technology. This technology is the responsibility of the ALASCA association, which is currently supported by the Free State of Saxony in order to create sovereign cloud infrastructures for SMEs and municipalities, for example. We would like to increase our exchange with other contacts from the municipal sector and see great potential for cooperation here," explains Dr. Marius Feldmann, COO of Cloud&Heat Technologies GmbH.
The following exhibitors will be represented at the trade fair (Hall 25/411):
- Beratungsraum Kommunal- und Unternehmensberatung GmbH, Leipzig,
- Cloud&Heat Technologies GmbH, Dresden,
- Heinrich & Reuter Solutions GmbH, Dresden,
- intecsoft GmbH & Co. KG, Dresden,
- KAPRION Technologies GmbH, Dresden,
- Landesamt für Geobasisinformation Sachsen, Dresden,
- Saxony State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development (SMIL), Dresden,
- Smart City Dresden.
A special highlight at the joint stand is the Saxony Afternoon on Wednesday, October 1, from 2:00 to 5:30 pm. Thomas Trepmann, Head of Department for Regional Policy, Rural Development and Innovation at SMIL, will open the event. This will be followed by impulses and a Q&A session on the "Digital Twin Saxony" project as well as short presentations by exhibitors on projects, use cases and digital solution approaches. There will be an opportunity for questions and direct exchange.
