EAO expands in the Vogtland region
With the ground-breaking ceremony for the extension to the EAO site in Auerbach, the Swiss family-owned company is sending a strong signal for economic development and the creation of new jobs in the Vogtland region.
The international Swiss family business EAO and the pan-European construction and service company Goldbeck have given the official go-ahead for the expansion of the EAO company site in Auerbach, Vogtland. The ground-breaking ceremony marks the start of construction of a new three-storey building, which will combine modern logistics, production, canteen and social areas under one roof.
- Investment strengthens the location and creates new jobs in the Vogtland region
The Saxony Trade & Invest Corp. (WFS) worked together with the district administration and local authorities to attract investment to the Auerbauch site. The company also considered alternatives in Portugal and Bulgaria. Despite the cost disadvantages, the decision was made to expand the site in Vogtland due to the positive experiences at the existing location and satisfaction with the support provided by the public sector.
With the approximately 15 million euro expansion, EAO is reaffirming its clear commitment to the region and its long-term future in Vogtland. The construction measures include both new buildings and conversions and create the basis for modern and efficient structures. Once completed, up to 250 people will work at the site in areas such as manual assembly, logistics, purchasing, quality assurance, industrial engineering and development.
- EAO Automotive at the site since 1991
The EAO Automotive plant in Auerbach is a reliable partner to the automotive industry. Here, tailor-made HMI solutions are developed and produced for safe interaction between humans and vehicles. These include high-quality switches and HMI assemblies for cockpits, doors, tailgates, and various exterior applications such as charging sockets.
- Expansion of industry solutions & logistics center
“The groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of a strategically important project for our company,” emphasizes EAO Managing Director Dirk Hofmann. “We are creating modern structures that optimize our processes, provide space for further growth, and create attractive jobs in the region.” With the expansion, EAO is also extending its range of products and services to other industries, such as railway technology. In the future, all EAO customers will also be supplied from Auerbach. State-of-the-art logistics technology and efficient processes ensure that components and products are shipped reliably worldwide. Auerbach is thus developing into the logistical heart of the company.
- Sustainable construction and modern energy concepts
EAO attaches particular importance to a sustainable energy supply. Heat is generated by an air-to-water heat pump and distributed to the various areas of the building via radiant ceiling panels, air heaters and underfloor heating. The new building is complemented by two connecting buildings that create a direct link to the existing structures. The outdoor facilities will also be redesigned as part of the project. The aim is to complete the extension by March 2027.
As a Swiss family business with over 75 years of experience, EAO combines tradition with state-of-the-art technology and is one of the world's leading providers of innovative solutions for interfaces between man and machine, which are used to control and monitor industrial processes and machines.
