SEMICON Europe: Saxony relies on international networking with chip clusters in Europe, Asia and the USA
From November 18 - 21, 2025, the who's who of the European semiconductor industry will meet at SEMICON Europa in Munich. A record number of 58 players will be exhibiting at the joint stand organized by the Silicon Saxony network together with the Saxony Trade & Invest Corp. (WFS).
This makes the stand a beacon at SEMICON Europa and a flagship for the expertise in the German Federal State of Saxony.
"The WFS is now present at all important semiconductor trade fairs in Asia, Europe and the USA, uses these platforms for networking, acquisition and internationalization and promotes 'Silicon Saxony' as a dynamic and technologically successful economic region. The high innovative strength of the ecosystem and the appeal of the location have recently been underlined by Globalfoundries' investment announcement to expand chip production and the decisions by Murata Machinery Europe, SEMPA Systems and Air Liquide, among others, to locate and expand here. Specifically, we want to use the trade fair to expand our investment and internationalization activities - not only with other European clusters, but also with Taiwan and the USA. For example, we will follow up on our activities at SEMICON Taiwan in September and intensify discussions with interested companies. We are also expecting a company delegation from the US state of Arizona. Various discussions were held there at SEMICON West in October. On this basis, we now want to network the participants with Saxon companies," explains WFS Managing Director Thomas Horn.
Other regions, such as Invest Region Leipzig, are also using the appeal of TSMC's decision for Saxony to promote their location. "SEMICON Europa is an ideal opportunity for us to talk to investors from Germany and abroad and to show the opportunities that the Leipzig region offers companies from the semiconductor and electronics industry - be it the proximity to leading players in microelectronics in Saxony, the availability of attractive commercial space and well-trained specialists or the excellent infrastructure," says Michael Körner, Managing Director of Invest Region Leipzig GmbH.
There will be guided tours and networking opportunities for international delegations from the USA and the Netherlands at the Silicon Saxony joint stand. There will also be regular "GetTogether" invitations and other established formats.
SEMICON Europa is the largest European electronics platform that brings together industry leaders from the entire design and manufacturing chain. It focuses on the latest market trends and topics such as intelligent manufacturing. Over 600 exhibitors from around the world will present the latest semiconductor equipment, materials and services. These include wafer manufacturing, packaging and testing. In addition, participants can discuss the challenges facing the microelectronics industry in various programs, including the Advanced Packaging Conference and the Fab Management Forum.
