Freiberg Instruments Doubles Production Capacity
Freiberg Instruments completed a major expansion of its headquarters in 2026, doubling its production capacity for the second time in seven years.
The new climate-controlled production hall provides additional space for manufacturing, system integration and the commissioning of advanced metrology and automation systems, with a particular focus on equipment for semiconductor production.
The expansion is about more than additional floor space. Production, laboratories and administration are now more closely connected, shortening internal routes and enabling faster, more direct collaboration. The new hall also creates space for acceptance testing and customer demonstrations – supporting larger, more complex and highly customized projects at one location.
The wider investment program also encompasses CNC milling with robotics, waterjet cutting and a photovoltaic system. These investments strengthen Freiberg Instruments’ in-house manufacturing capabilities, increase operational flexibility and support more sustainable operations.

Freiberg Instruments first doubled its production capacity in 2018, when an earlier extension brought production and application teams together and expanded the company’s in-house manufacturing capabilities.
The 2026 milestone builds on that foundation and creates the capacity required to serve growing global demand while continuing to deliver precise, reliable and customized solutions.
