BESPOKED Dresden 2026: A Weekend Dedicated to the Cycling Community
The weekend of September 11–13 was a real highlight for Saxony's bicycle industry and the international biking community.
For the fourth time, BESPOKED—the world’s leading trade show for handmade bicycles—took place in Dresden. That in itself is remarkable, as BESPOKED usually moves from one location to another. The trade show brings together exhibitors and visitors from all over the world—including the U.S., Canada, France, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, and Japan.
Saxon companies also showcased their unique bicycles, innovative ideas, and artisanal solutions at the event, including Brakestuff by Sitec, U–micro mobility, RVMBLE, SOUR, LightWolf, Actofive by Metzner, Extremtextil e. K., Wheeldan, ADD wheel by NHzwo, Veloheld, Munrowheels, PiRope, Wunderlich, and Hüttel cycles. In this way, BESPOKED also reflects one of Saxony’s major strengths: high-quality metalworking, industrial precision, and technical textiles.
As part of Saxony’s joint presentation at BESPOKED, ALLPACKA GmbH from Leipzig, Cycling Saxony e. V., Gabelknecht / Karl A. Steinel GmbH from Bad Elster, the Dresden Chamber of Crafts, the City of Dresden (Office for Economic Development), Velometrik GmbH from Neukieritzsch, WhiteStone Bike GmbH from Zittau, Sandra Kannis—custom-made outdoor textiles from Arnsdorf—and Texlock GmbH from Leipzig. Also on display was a bicycle featuring components from Sour, HUNT, and Qvist.
In the run-up to the trade show, the WFS—now for the sixth time—organized the SAXONYvisit “Bike Business Adventure” project. Industry experts and relevant companies from around the world were invited to a business tour of Saxony’s bike industry and to networking events. Among others, the delegation visited Saxon companies such as SYN Global Cycling Club, PiRope, Diamant, QVIST, Rotor, Veloheld, R2 Bike, and Lightwolf. The day of visits concluded with a networking event at the “Thalia – Cinema, Coffee, and Cycling” in Dresden. Among other things, attendees gained insight into the origins and development of cycling culture in Saxony.
A special highlight was the arrival of the European Peace Ride in Dresden on September 12—this time in the green jersey, which could also be admired at the Saxony joint booth at BESPOKED. At the same time, other exciting cycling events took place in Saxony—including the mountain bike race in Greifenstein and the Bohemian Border Bash in the Saxon-Czech border region.
The weekend of September 11–13 impressively demonstrated just how diverse, international, and interconnected the cycling world in Saxony is—and the role the industry plays in Saxony.
