Butchery products with the usual taste, but without animal ingredients - this was the guiding principle behind the founding of Die Vegane Fleischerei in 2023 and the opening of the first store in Dresden in the same year.

Based on purely plant-based ingredients such as pea and wheat proteins, rapeseed oil, soy, vegetables and spices, the vegan products are produced according to recipes developed in-house. These include steaks, bratwurst, Königsberger Klopse and meat loaf in vegan quality as well as alternatives to roasts, various cold cuts and meat salads. The range has been gradually expanded so that the company now offers over 100 vegan products at ten locations across Germany. In addition to meat substitutes, the range includes numerous plant-based cheese and fish varieties, sauces and dips.

The plant-based alternatives to steak, camembert, salmon and the like are created and handcrafted primarily in Dresden. From there, the products reach consumers via various channels in a refrigerated supply chain and usually vacuum-packed. The company pursues an omnichannel sales approach with its own stores, online store, shop-in-shop concepts in food retail and B2B in the catering sector. It also offers a franchise system.

Behind the Die Vegane Fleischerei brand is Friends not Food GmbH, whose corporate philosophy focuses on the common good and sustainability. According to the company, its profits go directly to animal welfare and environmental protection. Over 20 employees work in product development and production.
