As Europe's largest ICT cluster, "Silicon Saxony", together with Saxony's more than 200-year tradition as a mechanical engineering location, is decisively advancing the digitalization and automation of more than just production processes. With its uniquely strong ICT, mechanical engineering and software expertise, Saxony can set its own course in robotics technologies. Young robotics start-ups as well as established automation companies and renowned research institutes contribute to this. With its specific R&D and industrial structure, Saxony is one of the few regions that has excellent potential in both software / algorithms and hardware / system development. Strategic areas of action are formulated in Saxony's AI strategy.
