ScaDS.AI (Center for Scalable Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence) is a center for data science, artificial intelligence and big data with locations in Dresden and Leipzig.

The Center for Explainable and Efficient AI Technologies (CEE AI) is jointly supported by TU Dresden and the Fraunhofer Society. Its focus is on the areas of "explainable AI," in particular knowledge modeling, and "efficient AI."

The Saxony-Bavaria AI cooperation project gAIn (Next Generation Al Computing) was launched in 2025 with a grand opening ceremony. In this project, scientists from universities in Dresden and Munich are developing innovative AI systems.

DeepTech start-up Techifab from Radeberg has filed several patents for its novel TiF platform technology - a scalable architecture that combines both data storage and processing in a single component and is compatible with CMOS manufacturing processes.

After around two and a half years of construction, the Jenoptik Group completes its largest single investment in recent history and inaugurated its new factory in Dresden in May 2025. With the new fab, Dresden will become a main location for Jenoptik's micro-optics activities.
