The Bharat Forge Aluminiumtechnik GmbH & Co. KG in Brand-Erbisdorf, a member of the Indian Kalyani Group, is a specialist for the development and production of weight-optimized functional parts on behalf of the automobile industry. Towards this end, the company acts in a consistently sustainable manner, for example, when it comes to the recycling of aluminum scrap in its own factory. One of the latest in-house developments is the „adforge“ production process which not only saves energy, but also permits the manufacture of complex parts and components which are not forgeable with conventional methods. A new, innovative precursor material – „HCM“ (horizontal casting material) – provides above average strength potential and high corrosion resistance, and it scores points with its lower energy consumption in production.

By applying a special cathodic dip coating (CDC) procedure and thanks to the competences that have been developed in the bonding sector, the ready-to-assemble aluminum components can be attached directly to the carbon passenger compartment in the BMW Plant Leipzig. In addition to cathodic dip coating, the BENSELER Beschichtungen Sachsen GmbH & Co. KG also provides electrostatic powder coating and wet coating. The BENSELER Sachsen GmbH & Co. KG specializes in diverse deburring processes.

Action Composites Hightech GmbH, technology and testing center Kesselsdorf

Since 2013, the thyssenkrupp AG has been pooling its activities revolving around high performance lightweight components made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastics (CFRP) in a Tech Center Carbon Composites in Kesselsdorf near Dresden. On August 19, 2019, thyssenkrupp AG announced the sale of thyssenkrupp Carbon Components GmbH to the Austrian Action Composites Hightech GmbH. The main business area of the  Action Composites Hightech GmbH's technology and testing center in Kesselsdorf is the development and production of such vehicle components as, for example, lightweight CFRP wheels which entail weight savings between 30 and 50 percent when compared to conventional aluminum rims.

In a special in-house production area for the manufacture of composites, the company not only produces crash-relevant structural components made of glass-mat-reinforced polypropylene or polyamide, but also such flat panel components as, for example, undercarriage protection made of a special thermoplastic material. The products are used in hybrid and electric vehicles.
