The Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid also rolls off the assembly line in Leipzig. A well-positioned supply industry in the automotive sector and the electrical industry manufactures, for example, powertrain components, batteries as well as power electronics.
Already since 2009 now, the Federal State has been participating as a model region in the federal program “Electric Mobility in Model Regions.” And since 2012, Saxony has been promoting numerous demonstration and pilot projects within the “Showcase Bavaria-Saxony ELECTRIC MOBILITY CONNECTS” program in which e-mobility undergoes practical tests and can be experienced by the public at large.
The Saxony State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labor, and Transport (SMWA) has assigned the Saxony Energy Agency (SAENA) to establish and operate a competence center for e-mobility. SAENA pools the activities of Saxony’s stakeholders in the e-mobility sector and safeguards the implementation of the Federal Government’s objectives and the Federal State of Saxony’s sustainability strategy.
