Textile Hub Saxony
Saxony's textile industry can look back on more than 200 years of tradition. And it continues to cover almost the entire textile chain even today. This value creation chain encompasses fiber, yarn, and nonwoven fabrics producers, spinning and weaving mills, knitting and warp knitting mills, textile finishers as well as fashion and clothing manufacturers. In particular, the Saxony's regions of Vogtland and Upper Lusatia are renowned as textile regions where numerous textile companies are located today.
With a share of more than 50 % in sales and development activities, the focus of the Saxon textile industry is on technical, functionalized textiles. So it is not surprising that in particular textile materials for lightweight constructions, health textiles, and applications with natural fibers play a prominent role here. Saxony’s entrepreneurs and researchers are highly process driven and in so doing, they put particular emphasis on such topics as digitalization as well as sustainability & recycling.

A VIRTUAL VISIT TO THE STAKEHOLDERS OF SAXONY’S TEXTILE BRANCH
Over the past few years, the Saxony Trade & Invest Corporation (WFS) has organized various business trips abroad as well as visits of foreign delegations to Saxony on the most diverse “textile topics.” In so doing, a wide range of cooperative projects have been initiated between Saxony's and foreign companies.
Towards this end, some of the major stakeholders of the textile branch in Saxony have created 3D visualizations (based on the Matterport platform) – essentially as a virtual replacement of an on-site visit. You can look at these visualizations via a mouse click on the respective company name in the list on the right.
